To climb mount kinabalu successfully, you will DEFINITELY need to prepare yourself mentally, physically and emotionally.Train your leg muscles and stamina in general. But prepare yourself mentally and emotionally by equipping yourself with the determination to get to the summit, because IT IS POSSIBLE!

Make sure you have water proof warm clothes and a raincoat, I am wore my ski jacket with a heat-tec shirt inside, heat-tec leggings+yoga pants+ski pants for the 2am climb up to the summit. In the lower parts of the trail before base camp, I wore a heat tech shirt, heat tech leggings and wore my raincoat, because the weather changes quickly!

You must get a pair of splash proof material hiking shoes. And also equip yourself with a pair of hiking sticks, it helped me a great deal on the ascend or descend, consider them as your third or fourth legs. And not to forget buy a best Lightweight Hydration Bladder, it is very important to keep yourself hydrated.
